Ber Carroll - Bio
Ber_Carroll
Ber Carroll was born in Blarney, a small but rather famous village in Ireland. She worked as an accountant in Logitech and Symantec before moving to Sydney in 1995. Her first job in Sydney was with Data General as Finance Manager for ANZ. It was an exciting and dynamic job, complete with demanding deadlines, complicated corporate politics, and many social get-togethers to let off steam. With ideas buzzing in her head, Ber enrolled in a creative writing class and began to write her first novel, Executive Affair.

In 1999, Ber moved to Unisys and over the following four years she performed a number of high level roles before becoming Finance Director for Ber_Carroll_bookthe Business Process Outsourcing division. During this time, she completed a second novel, Just Business, and signed a three-book deal with the very successful Irish publisher, Poolbeg (who launched writers such as Marian Keyes, Cathy Kelly, Maeve Binchy, and Monica McInerney). Ber resigned from Unisys in 2004 when she realised that it was impossible to work fulltime, write books, and be a mother to two small children.

Ber_Carroll_book Four years on, Ber has completed another three novels, and all five books will be released in Australia by Pan Macmillan over the next two years, starting with High Potential, which was published this July. Occasionally, in search of inspiration, Ber dons a business suit and briefcase and returns to the world of finance.
