Member nights are a very important part of the Lansdowne Club annual calendar. These nights are special as they enable us to catch up with old friends, make new friends and expand our business networks. Over the past few years we have been fortunate to have a number of excellent guest speakers come and share their experience. Member night guest speakers have included:
- Paul O’Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of Optus
- Jack O’Mahony, Former Managing Director of Cochlear
- Fergus Lenihan, Festival Director of the Sydney Festival
- Mr Paul McGeough, Journalist SMH
- Mr Phillip Cronin, General Manager Intel Australia & New Zealand
- Dr Norman Gillespie, Chief Executive Officer Sydney Opera House
- Irish Ambassador, His Excellency Declan Kelly
- Mr Donal Lenihan, Manager of the British and Irish Lions Rugby team
- Mr Nick Farr Jones, former rugby world cup-winning captain of the Wallabies
- Dr Brian Kennedy, Director of the National Gallery
- Senator Graham Richardson
- Mr Jim Sloman, Chief Operating Officer, SOCOG
- Mr Chris Roberts, Managing Director of Arnotts Biscuits Limited
In the last few years we have extended our functions to include Members Breakfasts providing additional opportunities to network. In the past twelve months we have welcomed Ambassador Máirtín Ó Fainín and Paul McCullagh who generously shared his exploits in the private equity world with us. Alan Joyce, Managing Director & CEO of Qantas Airways Ltd, a native of Dublin who spoke passionately about his experience in the aviation industry in Ireland and Australia.
