The Lansdowne Club celebrated the anniversary of its 21st Birthday on the 31st of October 2007 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour. It was a wonderful and intimate night attended by over 240 people including around 20 of our inaugural members.

Director Michael Pascoe MC’d the evening for us and had an informal chat with past Chairmen, Kingsley Aikins and Brian Maguire and current Chairman Peter Brennan.
On the night a presentation was made by Chairman Peter Brennan to Director Teresa Keating for her contribution to the Club over the last 20 years of a beautiful gold necklet of the Club logo. Peter also made a presentation of gold cufflinks to Kingsley Aikins for founding the Club and his vision in doing so. Wonderful food including a bug tail salad, Ballotine of chicken, Raspberry and bitter chocolate Trifle were enjoyed on the night and we thank John Kelly of the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre for his support. We also enjoyed Tullamore Dew Irish Coffees and Carolans courtesy of Suntory.
Entertainment included Phil Cass and a sing along with our own Frank Curran on piano, his Tenors and Tom Roche.
The Chairman indicated that the night was a very special celebration of not only our 21st Birthday, but also the spirit upon which the Lansdowne Club was created. It is a spirit of warm friendship, a spirit of joyous fun, and a spirit of regularly coming together to truly help each other while we celebrate our Irish Australian heritage. We are all very proud of our Club and hope that it will continue to form a lasting ad very active legacy for future generations.
