The Lansdowne Club Business Awards were launched in 1998 to recognise and reward the accomplishments of a Company or Individual who excel in their chosen field or industry. The creation of the Awards was an important milestone in the evolution of the Club, allowing us to celebrate the significant contribution to business, the arts and community services that our members make and allow the Lansdowne Club to recognise (and reward) members of the Club who have excelled in their chosen field or industry in an individual capacity and/or through their Company.
The Business Awards have been presented in 1998, 2001 and 2005. An additional Young Business Award was introduced in 2005.
Entry to the competition is open to all members of the Lansdowne Club. Members can nominate themselves or another member and it is expected that the Company or Individual would have at least two years experience in the same business.
The committee seek the commercial acumen of some of Australia’s leading business professionals to choose the winners in each category. Our Directors and the Awards Committee are not involved in the selection process of the winners and the decision of our Judging Panel is final. The Judges look for a "Winner" in every respect and in accordance with the set criteria for each Award. The Lansdowne Club and the Award Committe is indebted to the Judging Panel for their help, professionalism and the integrity they bring to the selection process for the Business Awards.
The Chairman of the Panel of Judges announces the winners on the occasion of The Lansdowne Club Business Awards Gala Dinner. The winners are presented with trophies created by Waterford Wedgwood with replica trophies retained by the winners and a cheque for $5000 and other prizes from the Business Award Sponsors. The winners also receive tremendous exposure across the Club's membership and its associations. There are currently three award categories:
