About Special Functions

Over the years the Lansdowne Club has hosted a range of "Special Functions".

These functions have welcomed important guests to Sydney, enabled members to meet with trade delegations or visiting dignitaries.

• 1999 Book of Kells Weekend Canberra
• 1997 Lunch for Dick Spring Deputy Prime Minister and President in Office of the Council of Ministers of the European Union Attended by the three former Labor Prime Ministers: Mr Gough Whitlam, Mr Bob Hawke and Mr Paul Keating

Royal Randwick Race 2005

Our Lansdowne Club Youth committee: Nadean Brenna, Susan Clear, Michael Keaveney, Roy McCullagh, Peter Maher, Alana Murphy and Dermot O'Connell hosted our inaugural Race Day Party at Royal Randwick on Saturday 23rd April 2005. The fun took place in the prestigious Vista Room, featuring commanding views of the entire Randwick racetrack.

The Lansdowne Cup

Whenever the Australian Wallabies and the Irish Rugby Team play, they compete fiercely for the honour of winning and holding the Lansdowne Cup. We were delighted to have worked closely with the Australian Rugby Union in the naming and designing of this prestigious and specially commissioned Waterford crystal trophy.
